SNOWMOBILING COTTONWOOD PASS.

In just a small amount of time, you can feel as though you are on top of the world. Snowmobiling to the top of Cottonwood Pass near Buena Vista, Colorado, brings you to the Continental Divide. Here, the snow on one side of the pass  melts to the Atlantic Ocean and the other side, snow melts to the Pacific Ocean. It’s such an amazing  feeling, being placed at 12,000ft, seeing numerous 14,000ft peaks surrounding you and all with little effort in the winter months on a snowmobile tour.

In the summer months, many travellers drive this pass (half paved and half gravel) to cross the Continental Divide, see the sights and access the Gunnison Valley from Buena Vista Colorado. Over the winter, Cottonwood Pass is closed to vehicle traffic and miles of snowfilled roads are groomed by a local Buena Vista Snow Drifters Snowmobile Club.

No matter what your snowmobile experience is, there’s access and terrain to suit most outdoor enthusiasts. Groomed roads over Cottonwood Pass to Taylor Park and beyond  provde consistent and smooth trails for a day exploring. From those groomed roads, snowmobilers seeking more excitement can  access unlimited unmarked, untracked terrain on National Forrest.

Colorado snowmobiling has some of the best terrain in the Nation because of its beautiful mountain landscape and high, dry snowfall. Exploring the Continental Divide on snowmobile is ian nvigorating and breathtaking experience. There’s no better way to spend a Colorado winter day than on a snowmobile, exploring the vast and unique terrain.
