MOUNT PRINCETON HOT SPRINGS RESORT
Narrow Gauge Trail
Length of Hike: 7.2 miles (one way to Cascade Falls)
This historic trail follows the old narrow gauge railroad line from St. Elmo to Nathrop and is a great choice for those seeking an easy and flat hike with mountain scenery. The gentle out and back route runs along the north side of Chalk Creek and climbs slowly through forests and along the base of Mt. Antero (14,289 ft). Enjoy stunning views of the Chalk Cliffs as you pass over Wrights Lake.
Approximately half way up the trail you will see Agnes Vaille Falls. This trail best depicts the majestic Chalk Cliffs, especially in the early morning or late afternoon – Spring is the best time to hike.
