Greens Creek Trail
Length of Hike: 7 miles one-way to Continental Divide
Difficulty Level: Difficult
This is a 7-mile trail (one way) to the Continental Divide or 6 miles to the Green’s Creek Crossing. The lower section of the trail is smooth and winds through tight aspen trees. The upper section is steep, wet, and rocky. The trail is used by hikers, horseback riders, bikers and motorized dirt bikes. Dogs are required to be on a leash. The trail crosses two creeks and ends at a shelter on the Continental Divide. Wintertime hikers on snowshoes have spotted mountain lions in the area. Summertime brings bear sightings along the trail.
Directions to Greens Creek
From Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort, take CR 162 East to Hwy. 285. Hwy 285 South will intersect with Hwy. 50 in Poncha Springs. Turn left on Hwy 50 to find CR 220 – turn left and parallel Hwy 50 for 2 miles to CR 221, turn left 2.5 miles to trailhead. (30-minute drive time from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort)
