Every motorcyclist is an adventurist at heart. Most ride to explore and experience new places while feeling free and closer to the outdoors. Although the COBDR roads are rugged, they are still public and require a street legal vehicle (with a license plate) designed for both on-and-off road use.  The route is designed to be ridden on adventure and dual sport motorcycles as well as 4×4 vehicles. Generally, these adventure motorcycles will feature knobby tires and a fuel range capable of long distances without gas station stops. Many have crash bars and a comfortable and upright riding position.
